yellowing of mask

Post by teach » Sun Feb 11, 2007 7:30 pm

Does anyone have any ideas on how to take care of a mask that is yellowing? I've only had my mask for 2.5 months and the plastic is starting to yellow. I clean it everyday and use vinager once a week.

Hi teach,

I did a Search for "yellow and silicone". Came up with this old topic, but I didn't see anything mentioned that would make the yellow become clear again or prevent yellowing:

For topics about cleaning routines in general, click Search (button at upper left) and type this phrase (including the word "and") into the keyword box:

Thank you rested gal. I read the links and at least feel better about using it. I'll keep researching if there is anything else that can be done. Teach

When you store your mask is it near anything else?
If I store my scuba diving mask with the rest of my equipment the silicon part of the mask will yellow.

It doesn't affect the performance of it just changes the color.
