I can't imagine where the "pink slime" is coming from.
It comes from the air, it's a common bacteria floating around.
Can you give me a reference to that? I'd like to learn more about it.

It is very humid here, and I have NEVER had pink slime,
except when I used distilled water from the grocery store in the "po" neighborhood.
Never, have I ever, had it with home-distilled water.

So then when we see such complaints here we should ask if there is an infant in the house, and also ask how their bathroom cleanliness is. But it is not clear why the incident of pink slime is apparently so much more prevalent with cpap users than the general public.

What gives you that idea? It's a *common* airborne bacteria.

I think I have seen it in a rain gauge.

I have Soclean. When first used it the odor was strong but after a few times all there was less dirty particulate and film which was cause the mask to generate more odor. After my mask was routinely cleaned it didn't have that strong odor. I always run my machine with mask off before bedtime so I am not breathing in any residual ozone. I used to have terrible sinus infections and congestion and allergies but rarely now. So I definitely see a big difference.
