I hear THAT! I came to the appt with my SD card and my daily diary. I wanted to look at a few of my charts and ask him to explain some things. When I offered him the card he just waved me off. He has never explained one thing to me since the start....just handed me a brochure about apnea. That he never asked me how I FELT after using CPAP religiously amazed me.SewTired wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 4:14 pmWhile we all have our disgust about sleep doctors, there's no reason to handhold you if he isn't going to do anything else. He (or a staff PA or NP) MUST see you to give you a new annual prescription. If you have problems, you call and make an appointment (and good luck with that - typically 1-2 months). I just get mad that they don't even look at the graphs - my AHI barely qualified for a machine. It's my HEART that did. Yet, no questions on that.clenchingtobreathe wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 11:44 amThanks you all! I have pretty much decided to just take care of myself. If, after 2.5 months, the doc doesn't want to see me again for a year....I guess that's what he expects me to do anyway. I guess I just expected/wanted someone (and he is bd certified in sleep disorders) to CARE a little more......after all, he's the one who told me that untreated apnea can damage the major internal organs! But I can get that from my primary doc who is a gem! And he'll write prescriptions for whatever equipment I need in the future....![]()

Gosh, I certainly feel your pain. We had so many issues with our doctor and he also has never been able to guide us correctly. I agree with the fact that being in this forum has helped us way more than any of the expensive and lengthy doctor visits. Hang in there. I hope that you will be able to adjust to it all soon.
