Considering the recent postings about Spam, a poll . . .

none, because it is like pissing up wind. besides, this forum software is so hosed the only people that can log in and post are the spammers.

I cast my vote on my work today - in excess of 20. Yuk, Yuk, Yuk. Nothing addictive about it. If they don't get deleted, all the new threads get buried on page two.

I chose the answer as 1or 2 per day, but this is not really a correct answer. I have probably only hit 4 or 5 that I was absolutely certain of in the amount of time that I have posted even though I have suspected a lot of it. But being of a conservative nature, if I'm unsure, I leave the "Spam" identification to the smarter ones or the forum administrators to do the "clean-up". It does become quite a nuisance type thing which seems to occur on a sporadic type basis like when an old post is re-introduced and you receive an e-mail regarding it, as you were watching it in the past, and you click on it and get the message "this topic no longer exists'.
The "good" things on this forum far outweighs the "bad" though so I just accept it and go on to the valuable postings that have helped me learn so much.
Even though it's a repetitious statement--this forum and the administrators deserve daily Kudos!!!

I've only smacked them once a couple of nights ago, and got about five of them, before Doug & College Girl wasted the rest.

None. Months ago I deleted my own post because someone started a better one on the same subject. Then the administrators took away my "delete post" privileges.

I voted one or two a day because, in the long run, that's probably what it averages out to. Wednesday evening I nailed about a dozen of them and then another half dozen Friday. Somtimes I don't see any for a week or more.

Hmmm ... wonder if that is what happen to me?

So, I didn't vote since none of the selections were applicable for me.

I would have voted zero now, but many in the past.

I do not because there are so many who love to do this and I would be depriving them of this thrill.

Besides, I would probably be banned for deleting things I consider spam that others enjoy so much.

I've deleted maybe two spam postings in the past couple of weeks. There were a couple of others I would have deleted but somebody beat me to it. Instead of the spam posting, all I saw was a message about no such topic existing.

Regards,
Bill

Bill, it does come in spurts. I might go two or three weeks without seeing spam. But the other day, it was a deluge. Seriously, I bet I deleted 20 to 25 of them. Utterly ridiculous.

I use SpamBayes to help with all of the spam. I get at least 200 a day through both of my emails I use via Outlook. One of the emails my husband used to "register" with that darn Drivers website. I swear he was close to being murdered when I found out he used a GOOD email address instead of a yahoo one for that. SpamBayes is free (http://spambayes.sourceforge.net) and "trainable"...
