Recommendations wanted: mask-safe moisturizer
Recommendations wanted: mask-safe moisturizer
Hi all!
So I’m in the middle of a cold, which with all the nose blowing has given me the classic Rudolph-red and dry nose. Pre-CPAP I’d lather it up with a moisturizer I had on hand to try and combat the dry and uncomfortable skin overnight.
Now however, everything I have seems to be petroleum or oil-based and not recommended for use with masks. I usually need a liner or bandaids to protect my skin and create a better seal, but removing the bandaids is now painful, and sneezing makes my liners well, ... unfortunate Kleenexes.
Does anyone have a go-to, over-the-counter, mask-safe moisturizer that combats dry skin? I’d love to get some recommendations.
Thanks!

I've got a lot of lanolin left over from when I was getting used to the nasal pillow mask... I've used that on my sore nose to good effect.Nanuk wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 8:59 pmHi all!

It's for using on nursing mothers sore nipples, and it's safe for the mask.

Thank you!! I knew there had to be something readily accessible. I’ll have to give lanolin a shot.

Lansinoh is purified lanolin. It is odorless.
You may be able to find raw, natural lanolin--but do not open it up indoors.
That kind has a natural, STRONG smell.

Sheep shearers come in the house--and head straight for the Irish Spring.
Their hands and boots are incredibly soft, though . . .
