I have had my CPAP for one and half month. I started on a nasal pillow, but I have stuffy nose sometimes and since I am used to breathing through the mouth, air would come out of my mouth.
I switched to a full face mask after a month. I immediately noticed that my AHI start to swing a lot and a much higher RERA. Last night, I had 25 RERA events. Is this normal for switching from nasal to full face?
Also, since I have a non-existent nose bridge, my full face mask tend to leak at the top. I never noticed any leak with nasal, However, my reported leak rate dropped significantly since I switched. Could this because I was leaking through the mouth?
Thx.

There is nothing wrong with your mouth leak but you are not using your machine enough each night your average figures are less than 4 hrs a night. Any reason why ? You should use the machine every time you sleep otherwise you won’t get the full therapeutic benefit of your machine.

That's about the amount of time I sleep in my bed each night. My sleep is rather irregular. I typically nap on the sofa for a few hours after dinner, then work for a few hours, then go to bed. Even that changes from day to day. On the weekend, I sometimes nap all day.Jas_williams wrote: ↑Sun Sep 02, 2018 10:28 amThere is nothing wrong with your mouth leak but you are not using your machine enough each night your average figures are less than 4 hrs a night. I also seem to be able to remove the CPAP in the middle of the night without fully wake up. This is usually due to leaking or drooling. That's something I am working on. Last night, I put it back on after about 7 min (according to the machine) and it was the first night I got more than 7 hours of usage.

That’s great progress, I also suggest you use the machine when you nap
