Hello guys-
For some reason my Dreamstation is not recognizing the heated hose anymore. The whole thing is less than 2 months old. The humidifier does warm up but nothing to the hose. I don't want to pay for a new hose yet to find out it has something to do with the humidifier. Just noticed it today and know it was working last week.
Any suggestions?

Re: Heated hose not recognized
Hello CreativeChris,
I don't have that exact DreamStation model but a few things come to mind. You've probably done all of this, but here's what I would do. These are essentially all the steps in the user manual, Troubleshooting and Error Codes page 5-21.
1. Check to see that the tube has clicked all the way into place on the humidifier.
2. Check that the tube heating is turned on. You can do this by rotating the machine control dial until you see the squiggly hose icon in the upper right hand corner. It should not read zero. Your machine user manual should show this under: USER MENU NAVIGATION (THERAPY ON) AND OPTIONAL HUMIDIFICATION SETTINGS.
3. Assuming the tube is clicked into place and the tubing is turned on, and you've waited for it to heat up, I would assume it is the tube itself. Do you have a supplier who can trade out the tube for you? Two months does seem like a short time period but I've had a tube blow a leak after 7 months so these things aren't indestructible.
4. If it's not the tube then its the humidifier or the CPAP machine. That should be under warranty. Contact your supplier.
I hope this helps.

Re: Heated hose not recognized
Thanks for the explanation on setting up a heated hose. I just got one to be ready for colder weather and haven't set it up yet. Now I know the routine.

Re: Heated hose not recognized
Thank you. I have done all those steps and up until recently it was working. When I turn on the unit the heated tube locked icon turns on and then quickly turns off. Removing the hose and plugging it back in does nothing. In settings after this happens there is not even the option for the heated tube so I assume there is something wrong with it; at least hopefully. The humidifier does heat up so I know it's not the humidifier unit at least.
Re: Heated hose not recognized
I think the only think left is to try a new heated hose.
They should last longer than 2 months though...makes me wonder what happened but sometimes we don't get the answers we want.
The logical thought is the hose failed but it wouldn't be totally impossible for there to be something going wrong inside the electronics of the machine.
Try the easy fix first...new hose...and see what happens and go from there.
I am unsure of warranty time on a heated hose...most of that stuff is a 30 day thing but if you got your equipment from a DME brick and mortar store....have them give you a new hose to try.
If not...you can find them cheap enough on the internet.
Amazon less than $30 and there's probably some on EBay as well.

If it is a brick and mortar store, you could bring in the CPAP machine to have them try another new or known working heated hose.Pugsy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 30, 2018 6:48 amI think the only think left is to try a new heated hose.
