Thank you for welcoming a new member to the CPAP talk community.

I have many issues that I would like to tap your brains about, but let's start here:

As I fall asleep I actually feel like my chest "falling" on me, like caving in, which seems to hinder my breathing (this is without a cpap) which causes me to "jerk" and wake up, sometimes gasping for air. If *I am* using my cpap I get through this but into the night *it happens again*. Now when this happens into the night and I am feeling like I am gasping for air - I just remove my full face mask because I feel it is "too much" for my face. THIS IS NOT WHAT SHOULD BE HAPPENING. I know that when I don't awake in the middle of the night and can sleep through with the CPCP, I feel like a normal man. How can I stop the awakening and surf through the night?

I AM fat (THAT'S OBEICE, RIGHT?) and while I don't eat much, I remain FAT!. I am working to change this...

Ok, first of all being obese is not the end of the world but it's good you're working on it.

Now we'd love to help, but need to know which model of what machine (brand) you have as there are loads of "Respironics", Resmeds, Intellipaps, etc. Next please provide what mask and type you use (All this info btw belongs in your Profile, reached by your registration page (I believe - it's changed recently). It's also helpful for us to know what your prescribed pressure settings are and if you're using your machine at those pressures now (you may well need to change them, but we need to know what they are first).

Also, download Sleepyhead software -

https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepyhead
Format your charts https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepyhead/shorganize
and
viewtopic/t158560/How-to-post-images-for-review.html

so we can see what's going on overnight... and please repost in this thread so we can follow things. Thx!

into the night *it happens again*
Most likely, your machine settings are wrong or your leak is high. Use Sleepyhead software to analyze the situation.

I don't eat much
It's usually more about what is eaten instead of how much. Eat plenty of vegetables, limited fruits, lean meats, eggs, nuts, olive oil.
