Help finding the correct settings please?

Post by Shnorky » Sat Aug 18, 2018 4:18 am

Hello everybody.

Can anybody help please? Tried opening up the pressure settings on both machines, and this is the result. (Please let me know if I did something wrong, I can't think very straight)
First two with PR machine:

sh20180817.PNG
sh20180817.PNG (216.44 KiB) Viewed 14776 times
and last night with the Resmed machine:

With the resmed machine I feel as if I hadn't been treated at all, even with no almost events. Does anybody know how this could be possible?

Some people are more sensitive to the ups and downs of a range. You might try raising the minimum to help prevent more of those events as well as having fewer ups and downs.

Perhaps the low pressure is too low. The ResMed graphs are staying below your old rate of 11 for a majority of the time.
I will let those more experienced recommend setting changes.

Some people do better with a narrow range or even a straight pressure. Part of that YMMV thing. I can handle pressure changes like crazy, but a tiny little leak hissing will keep me awake.

Since you didn't follow the *STRONG* suggestion and keep all your posts in one thread, I have no idea what you were doing before, (and I don't feel like taking the time to dig it up) so I'll just *guess* you lowered your minimum pressure. That's bad, don't do it, minimum is important, put it back where it was, raise the MAX pressure, (it doesn't matter much usually) and keep all your posts in one thread.

PR's answer may be true for the majority, but YMMV. I have sleep quality issues if my minimum is much above 5.

I am just saying you cannot categorically say lowering the minimum pressure is bad.
Apparently you think you are an omniscient, infallible, obnoxious god who controls this forum.

I'm just saying that your 'help' is completely without any merit, since the OP said things got worse after lowering pressure.

At least what I said isn't counterproductive.

PR, When you childishly change names in quotes, you lose all credibility.

My browser does that, I don't know who you are, I don't care, all you are is one of the sources of noise on the forum.

E: I'm also, pretty sure that whatever my browser tags you as, (and yes, I did program it to do that), has nothing to do with the credibility I have on the forum with people that actually need help with their cpap usage.. They're the ones I care about, not noisemakers.

For the vast majority of people, a pressure of 5 is way too low. It is not comfortable, and takes too long to get to the needed pressure.

If somebody is uncomfortable at 7, but needs a pressure of 10, lowering it to 5 will NOT help them. They may be more comfortable, but they won't be treating their sleep apnea.

I am curious. Are you spending most of your night at 5?

Thank you for asking.

It's been a while since I posted a graph and I needed to set my charts up again due to testing newer SleepyHead versions. I have sinus allergies but use a P10 mask, so that likly affects the situation

Here are last night's graphs. Median pressure was 6.52 with 95% at 9.56.
