unmasked

So today I went back to the sleep doc to get fitted for another mask. I was reading other posts about people having lots of masks and thinking, why so many? But now I'm about to go to mask number 4 within a little over a year, so I guess not so strange after all. Just can't get no satisfaction. Two months ago got a Comfortlite II, which I found very unstable, always moving around on my face and being a little lite on the comfort, too. But hey, I'm determined.

I've been using the CPAP apparatus every night since I got it and still get so sleepy in the p.m. at work (not too cool) and then, like the song says, "tossing and turning all night." But at least my wife tells me I don't snore anymore and she hasn't left home and hearth for some silent sleeper, and she even stayed with me when I was braying like a donkey. So what's the problem?

I guess I just didn't expect to have so much difficulty finding a good mask fit. One thing that's been great is reading the posts here, since I see how many others are dealing with their own issues around this strange condition. Sleeping when you're supposed to be awake and awakened when you're supposed to be asleep. Never thought I'd be part of a band of sleep shifters, but here I am.

My next waltz with be with the Optilife Nasal Pillow. (Looking in the mirror, I've been seeing some pretty weird head gear, I'll tell ya. Can't wait til next Halloween) So that's the story so far. And I guess my life could use a little opti-izing.
To be continued...

Since several of those masks are already in the drawer not being used, it wouldn't hurt to hack them up and give them a second try.

This is an example of one of the possibilities.
