Just wanted to encourage everyone to be persistent with their friends and family if you suspect OSA. I just got off the phone with my brother and he promised to call tomorrow and make an appointment to get his sleep study. I've been suggesting it for a year and he finally agreed. He describes all the classic symptoms and I was able to explain why sleep apnea causes them. I have no doubt he will be joining the ranks of us hoseheads.

Same with my brother--it took YEARS. I finally had to convince him that what he thought of as getting "better sleep" really was a question of getting ANY sleep at all.

Sure enough he tested 15 OSA episodes/hour and is really looking forward to getting set up with his xPAP.

It also helps to tell them that the process can take several months so they ought to get started soon.

Hey Bret,

I was the opposite, my brother had OSA for 6 months and was hassling me the whole time. I'm sure glad he did.
