ResMed AirSense 10 - can you submerge tank for cleaning?

Post by wintersummer » Sat Aug 11, 2018 12:06 pm

I am somewhat new and need some guidance about cleaning water tank on a ResMed AirSense 10.

Instructions (written and online) say to "wash the water tub" in warm water using mild detergent. I have submerged the tank in a large bowl of slightly soapy water, using clean water to rinse. However, water gets under the metal plate at the bottom, in the space between the metal and exterior plastic, making it a challenge to completely dry after finishing.

Am I doing this correctly? Is submerging the correct approach? Or, should I be cleaning the water chamber with soapy water while maintaining the unit upright, which would prevent water from getting in between the plastic exterior and the metal plate at bottom? Hope I've explained this clearly enough.

Also, should I disconnect the cover from the bottom part of the tank for better cleaning?

Thanks.

I submerge mine completely. And then tilt it to one side, there is a drain hole in the bottom, on one corner. You have to stick the towel into the hole to absorb it out, the hole is real tiny.

If you use distilled water exclusively, you will need very little cleaning.
