With time your body will learn to keep that back door shut and the air won't enter the mouth.
I used to see pressures in excess of 20 cm and it didn't sneak into my mouth.

In the meantime how about maybe we limit the higher pressure for a while and give your body a chance to learn how to do that reflex thing to keep the back door closed?? Then after a few months you can gradually try increasing the maximum if the machine really needs to go higher.
Sometimes it wants to go higher but the going higher causes more problems than whatever the machine was trying to kill.
It might be better to let just a few apnea events slide for right now and get you to sleeping more soundly and later try more pressure again.

Can you post a recent night's report so we can see just where the machine is wanting to go and why and then maybe we can make a compromise for a little while that would deal with the bulk of your OSA and still not disrupt your sleep so much.

UPDATE

I'm somewhat tempted to make this a new thread but since so many people have commented on my issues I thought I should leave it here
New threads, BAD,

that is causing me to wake up because of the air blowing out of my mouth and causing the mouth bubbles.

Is this just something that I'm going to get used to or anybody have any suggestions?
A couple inches of micropore+ will fix that air out the mouth thing.

i have no idea why you can't read the answers to your question in the other thread but, having said that-

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=112758&st=0&sk=t&sd ... i#p1086296

some people tape their mouths, but i think the above is a much gentler approach.

good luck!
The OP said that mouth opening is not his problem...It's the air inside his mouth blowing up his cheeks.
There's nothing that will fix that. Probably best to focus on what is possible."

which is it?
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

1. It's obvious that people are not reading what I'm writing so if that's the case would you please stop writing on my post and please stop contributing absolutely nothing except causing arguments.

2. If you're going to have an argument with someone please do it through their personal mail and stop doing it on my post.

3. And please stop correcting people on my post. Those of you who are trying to help me thank you so much and those of you who are correcting the response please stop writing on my post. It's laughable some of the comments on here that are not helpful at all.

What a lot of you people are failing to comprehend here is it this is a place for people to get help. If you're not going to read the post and you're going to keep repeating the same thing that doesn't work please stop posting. And please stop criticizing other people's posts as well. We newbies here don't appreciate this condescending tone. If you can't say something nice, please start your own thread to complain about other people but stop doing it on my post. I'm here for help!

This is what I need to hear. Thank you! I will put my nasal triangle back on tonight so you can see what the results are. I was going to put on a full face mask but since it's uncomfortable I'm going to go with what's more comfortable so you'll be able to see what's happening in the middle of the night. I will try to post tonight's data tomorrow. I'll be heading to Europe for 10 days so I probably won't be posting much from there. Thanks fellow MO Pugsy.

Welcome to the internet, you don't seem to be fitting in very well.

1) we read what you wrote, you're just not reading, or comprehending what WE wrote to you.

2) see above, re internet.

3) see #2 above.

What you are failing to comprehend is that it's *RUDE* to waltz into a place and start telling the regulars how to behave.

Maybe you'd be happier over at apneaboard.com.

Okie Doky...let's see what tomorrow's report looks like and see if we can make some compromises that will let you get some needed decent sleep and get you some time where the body learns that reflex action I was talking about. It took my body about 4 months I think it was...it was a very gradual process for some reason. I am just thankful that the bulk of the time air doesn't enter my mouth and thus doesn't exit the mouth either. It no longer wakes me up which I am very grateful for because I have other stuff that does mess with my sleep. There's always something it seems like.

I wish I could accurately put it into words and sell it...I would be very rich.

Hey guys and gals...lighten up with the newbies.
Remember we have a sleep deprived person here who is very frustrated and probably not a happy camper about all this anyway and also probably most like most of us...wants an immediate fix. Lord knows I was in the same boat some years back. Heck, I still want immediate fixes.

Let's try to actually help and in this situation taping isn't the solution. We want to stop the air from entering the oral cavity via the back door to the airway in the first place. Not an easy task but not impossible...will take some time and a lot of patience.
It can be done...I have done it and I am not alone.

My internet is a bit iffy today....thunder boomers and lots of rain mess with it when you use a dish and live out in the boonies.

So if I don't respond quickly to your posting of last night's report...give me a bit of time and I will.
Plus I have to go over and take my mom to the store...she's 86 now and not doing so great.

On your user control panel there is a tab called "friends & foes". There you are able to put forum members on your ignore list. Then you don't see their posts unless you specifically want to. There are a few who can be unruly. If you put them on ignore, then they are just talking to the wind.

LOL. He/she has already been put on the FOE list!

Here is my data from last night. Beyond 4:30 AM, I was awake just tossing and turning trying to get back to sleep. I hope I included the right items.

I agree that 4 AM I am hitting some REM sleep where I have most of my issues.

Not sure what to do if I can't sleep through the pressure that is supposed to be helping me sleep through the night!!!

Thanks all!
