replacement mask parts for indigent persons

Post by cabhoney » Wed Feb 07, 2007 4:45 pm

Does anyone know of a dme that would supply a free pillow shell and exhaust vent plus a medium nasal pillow for the Puritan Bennett nasal pillow mask? I am a drug and alcohol counselor and have a client with no income who has duct taped her pillow together. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Talk to your equipmnt provider. Most all of us have some sort of in-house program specifically to deal with this situation. If there is no in-house program the provider almost assuredly has dealt with many local and state programs that put equipment and supplies into the hands of indigent patients. For example, at our facility we keep lists of all sorts of local charity and aid programs and contacts as well as having our own program that a patient can qualify for to receive either discounted or free equipment, supplies and home visits.

By the way, if you have any problems scaring up any information, shoot me a PM with what city you live in and I'll see if I can find anything for you from my end.

No promises, but I do still have a lot of contacts around the country and can sometimes find stuff.
