I woke up multiple times last night (at least maybe 4 I can remember with a dry mouth. Is this just from slightly opening my mouth and I'm having air leaking out of it?

You might be doing a little mouth breathing causing the dry mouth but it isn't enough to register as a large leak.
It doesn't take much mouth breathing to dry out the mouth. You don't have to have a tornado exiting your mouth either.
Some people report dry mouth even with using tape to seal the mouth.
Some people just get dry mouth easier than others.

I had an occasion to actually test out and record known awake mouth breathing.
I woke up one morning and was mouth breathing....very gentle mouth breathing and the mouth was rather dry. I laid in bed and continued to mouth breathe just to see what it looked like on the leak graph. The known awake mouth breathing time is circled in red..I had to finally abort the experiment due to bladder being a big uncomfortable.

a suggestion if i may; try xylimelts. it's a lozenge that one positions between cheek and teeth. it stays there all night and slowly melts, encouraging saliva production.

works for me and may work for you.

good luck!

Thanks. I didn't see Xylimelts at my grocery store this afternoon but I did pick up TheraBreath Dry Mouth Lozenges. I will see if this helps tonight.

Thanks for the tip zonker. Been trying a gel product, doesn't seem to last for me. Probably not putting it on right...

sure, sure. the only complaint that *I* have about gels is that i want to be open to taking a sip of water in the night. but that water washes away all the good that the gel is supposed to do!

with the lozenges, it works no matter if i take a sip or not.

Last night these may have helped. I'm still out on the verdict. I put one in at the beginning of the night but I think I finished it before I fell asleep. At about 4 or 5 in the morning I put one in and fell back asleep. Seemed to last longer then when I put it between my gums and cheek. I'll update this as I use them a few more nights.

As for the leak, I think I figured out at least half of it. It seems that the hose falls off the right side of the bed and then the weight of the connector kinda pulls it out of my nose just slightly. I'm going to see if I can rig it up better to stay above my head, esp when I roll to my right side.

i'm glad it helped. i usually put in two at around 11 pm and the effect lasts me until i get out of bed around 8-8:30.

and i too have the hose somewhat hung above me. i mean, it's not straight up by any means. just enough so that turning over doesn't rip my p10 out.
