I did check them out but none had the Aircurve 10 ASV. I don't actually care if our insurance accepts the bill from secondwind. If I went by what Bluecross would accept, I would have to purchase in Canada and would still be paying 50% of the cost of a machine that would be twice the price so works out the same.DavidY wrote: ↑Sun Aug 05, 2018 10:05 amCheck also with some Canadian online dealers like Cpapoutlet MonsterCPAP and Cpapmachines. Prices at these places are typically much cheaper than local DMEs. Check with your insurer if they would accept Secondwindcpap and/or these online dealers.
A couple months ago, I bought a new APAP backup unit (Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset for her) for just over CAD$800 from CPAP Outlet.

Re: Purchasing a device from SecondwindCPAP
While I have never bought a machine from SecondWind, I sold one to them and was very impressed with the process. At no point in the process - from the initial contact with them to receiving payment - did I feel any pressure or pushing to "steal" the machine or allow obstacles to get in the way. My take on the process is if they are this straightforward in buying, I would expect them to be equally straightforward in selling.

I have purchased an "Open Box" CPAP from Second Wind and have been completely satisfied with the transaction They helped me with some questions and had prompt delivery. I feel that they are a very ethical worthwhile organization.

I ship boxes similar in size and weight to what cpap machine might use to Canada frequently. Figure 10-12 days. There can be faster methods like UPS brokered shipping. Or USPS Priority Express. I use USPS Priority exclusively. The shipping time is never the problem. Sitting at Customs is the bottleneck and can be unreasonably long for reasons I don't know!

I just read the thread above, which contains almost a dozen glowing reviews of Secondwind, and no criticisms. Given that the folks on this forum do sometimes disagree with each other, this is quite striking!
Forgive me if I'm paranoid, but is this forum (CPAP Talk) affiliated with Secondwind ?
Or is Secondwind simply that darn good?

No, it's owned by a competitor.

It's that darn good. We have no affliction with them. With so many DME horror stories, it's nice to know there are good business (bitnesses) out there. Trust me, mention SoClean here and see what happens!

They are that good...and that nice to work with and they sell used machines which our forum host can't...so they fulfill a need.JerryL wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 2:14 amI just read the thread above, which contains almost a dozen glowing reviews of Secondwind, and no criticisms. And they can ship outside the country to other parts of the world and our forum host is limited in that regard by some manufacturer restrictions...so again fulfills a need.
Actually this forum...cpap.com pays the bills for us to have this forum and not have ads all over the place like you see on some forums.

Re: Purchasing a device from SecondwindCPAP
I remembering purchasing a lightly used auto cpap from Second Wind to use as a back up device -
and then there was a problem with it- So they were extremely helpful and were about to replace it with a new auto cpap,
But my prescription changed for a BiPAP, and they gave a BiPAP as my replacement and I paid a little extra for the cost of the BiPAP -
Second Wind is extremely helpful and has great service, and I highly recommend them

Re: Purchasing a device from SecondwindCPAP
Another Aussie customer of Secondwind Cpap and can't speak highly enough of their service, the last machine I bought off them was a gently used PR System One Auto that on arrival only had 13 hours use on the clock, previously I bought a Resmed S9 Autoset that also had very low hours use, both still working fine.
