I have a local craigslist ad selling at ResMed air mini for $350. They normally sell for $1200 here.
I believe that is a very good deal is it not? Anything I need to look out for with this unit that might make it a bad purchase?
Thanks
ResMed air mini - any gotchas?
Re: ResMed air mini - any gotchas?
There are a few gottchas..
Been discussed on the forum in the past.
Noise is one of them.
Lack of much humidification is one of them.
Mask limitation is one of them.
Special mask attachment thingy needed is also a gottcha.
It is a good price.
The minimal humidification thing would be a deal breaker for me. My nose wants to snort water to be happiest.
You might do some forum searches for the old threads where users discussed the AirMini.

Re: ResMed air mini - any gotchas?
Wow Pugsy you're quick to reply!
I just woke up but maybe I should've rephrased the question to accurately reflect what I was seeking.
I know of the limitations of the Air mini (no humidifier cartridge is annoying when you're using a FFM) but what about usage hours and reliability? The seller hasn't replied but I believe theirs is a ResMed air mini that comes with the F20 FFM compatible hose since it has a elbow that looks exactly like my that I currently use. I am pretty sure all the other hoses are "straight" ended to accommodate the little hose at the end of the mask (P10 for example) or to use with the HumidX humidifier cartridge.

Re: ResMed air mini - any gotchas?
You will have to wait for what few replies you get from someone with any experience with the AirMini but remember it is really new to the market and not many forum members here have used it and thus there's not a lot of reliability experience to draw upon here.
Haven't heard of a lot of complaints for failures but then the experience market we are drawing upon here is really small.
This machine hasn't been out in use for years and years like the regular machine.
Historically though...ResMed makes a good product that has a low failure rate.
I have no idea how to check usage hours but you could go over to the apnea board and request the manual for it.

Re: ResMed air mini - any gotchas?
At $350 and if it has reasonably low hours it seems like a pretty good bet, as long as it checks out in terms of functioning right now. All total WAGs on my part though. But you know you can re-sell it for a similar price if you don't like the limitations.
For me, the lack of an SD card for Sleepyhead, lack of active humidification, limit to 3 ResMed masks (no Dreamwear
) are deal breakers at the moment. That might change if I can get the P10 to work for me and if I decide traveling with the A10 is too much of a hassle...

Re: ResMed air mini - any gotchas?
Well despite my efforts to snag it up right away (it was only 6 monthsbokd according to the owner) that someone came in with $400 and bought it on the spot. Clearly priced too low for something so expensive and new. Oh well I will continue with my airsense10 since it is still king for comfort anyways. No lost sleep (literally) over a missed bargain.
