First night of forever (with SH graph)

Post by trekwars2000 » Fri Jul 27, 2018 7:43 am

So I'll give it a shot. Not as much sleep as I am used to (of course in the past I slept forever and was tired a few hours later) or would like as we had a out of town friend over. Data point: Had a few cocktails and a cigar last evening with him. Normally we are in bed between 10 and 11.

Not sure if I did everything right. Just wanted to get the graphic up before I leave for work.

Pretty good report for a first night.
Some large leak but that's sort of to be expected especially when new to therapy. Not a big deal. Heck, probably better leak graph than mine last night.

Just need more hours of sleep and time and experience...and you will get there.

Good job.

Although they say AHI under five is good, I really think it should be under one. This is surely an improvement over what you had before, so keep up the good work. Zero is perfect, but it is elusive for most of us.

Remember that 1.7 means an event every 36 minutes on average.

So what do you think a person should do if they have an AHI of 3.0 and 2.5 of that is centrals from maybe a cluster of awake breathing flags or even some sleep onset centrals and a person is having some insomnia issues?

Since I see no centrals here, I really don't see that this is relevant.

Since when has being relevant stopped you?
You give the same advice to people with centrals.
And the fact that you think that below 1.0 is what is best for you is not relevant for everyone else either.
And you totally ignore the possibility of SWJ elevating the AHI...especially for newbies who typically will have some sleep issues the first few nights. As usual...incomplete advice.

This was the OP's very first night...pretty damn good report in my book.

Thanks for the constructive inputs... Not sure how I can deal with only having a 1.7 last night, in my first night, after coming from nearly a 120... ;)

Anyway, question. I was so thirsty all day today. I already drink a lot of water (I live and grew up in Vegas). I have a 30 oz cup that I probably normally drink 3-4 times a day (just at work) and I probably filled it up 6-8 times today. Is this normal?

I haven't heard of people complaining about daytime thirst... Doesn't mean it doesn't happen, just that I've never noticed people talking about it.

I think you should be thrilled, especially for a first night coming in off an AHI in the 120 range.

Looking at the attached SH graph begs a question for me. I know from reading here that ResMed refers to all PB as CSR, but does the Airsense 10 Autoset machine not report it at all? Maybe a setting in SH?

Sorry I don't know what you are saying here...

Night two. Fell asleep downstairs on my chair with my wife on the sofa. Bad habit of ours. Probably fell asleep around midnight... got up at 130 or so and went upstairs.

I apologize for the minor hijack. I was really directing that towards other responders who might know.

That line in the flags chart won't show up unless some has been detected.

After you've gotten some treatment under your belt, you may stop doing that falling asleep on the couch thing... (or buy a spare machine for the couch).

And presumably that line will stay in the flag chart going forward after that?
