I don't know what other DMEs do with their low hour machines. Undoubtably some try to pass them off as brand new. But my DME did me a good turn. I have individual medical insurance with a $7K/yr deductible. They offered me a machine with 250 hours on it for $200. I was delighted to take them up on that, given my insurance constraints. I was happy they offered it to me before they returned it to ResMed.

Why are you so adamantly WRONG on so many things?SewTired wrote: ↑Mon Jul 23, 2018 7:57 pmMine do... every month. If you have a Resmed machine, yours does as well. Go to the clinical settings. Select Sleep Report. Almost immediately, you should see PERIOD: ONE MONTH. Scroll down and you get the hours. Those hours are reset every month. Even the S9 had this feature, so it's not new. I don't have access to a DreamStation. Clearly by the photos, that one does not reset. But the Resmed does.greatunclebill wrote: ↑Sun Jul 22, 2018 7:42 pmThat's a new one on me. Who told you therapy hours started resetting every month? I don't know of any that do that.
machine hours run for the life of the machine and can't be reset. user hours start at zero with a new patient if they are reset.
some insurance companies don't care if you are given a new or used machine.
From the manual:
Period
Set the time interval covered by the Sleep Report.
The options are: 1 Day / 1 Week / 1 Month / 3 Months / 6 Months / 1 Year
Days Used
Number of days the device has been used during the selected period or since the last
compliance data was reset.
Used Hrs
Number of hours the device has been used during the selected period or since the last
compliance data reset.
Nothing resets, it just shows you *A REPORT* for the last 30 days, or day, or week, or 3 months, 6 months, or year... You can change the period and look at different numbers....

The period is resetable it can show 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year and shows average of whatever is set. The value defaults to 30 days at power on to change the range hilight the period by turning the knob then press the knob and the represented range can be changed.SewTired wrote: ↑Mon Jul 23, 2018 7:57 pm

I agree that some insurance companies don't care if you get a new or used machine. Advocate for yourself. You pay for your machine. It's the only one you are going to paid for by insurance for 5 years (probably), so insist on a ZERO HOUR machine. It's your money.

Re: What do DME suppliers do with all those returned CPAP machines?
Thanks Jas. I was unaware that the period was resetable. Cool! Still, it is THERAPY hours, not MACHINE hours. So, whether it is 1 day, 1 week, 1 month or 1 year, it is the hours used during the current period, not the total machine hours (which in a Resmed is found under ABOUT).Jas_williams wrote: ↑Tue Jul 24, 2018 1:45 pm
