Thank you - and getting better at this thing!

Hello! Thanks to the help from folks on this site, I've started ignoring the leaks report and paying more attention to how I feel in the morning. I'm out of the States for the summer, so went to a respiratory specialist (CPAP, etc) here to ask about nasal dryness and how to see all of the data that you all see via SleepyHead. Well, it seems that I don't have a DS? SD? card, so the specialist had to use some gizmo to access my data. (At least now I know the SleepyHead problem...) In short, since I've switched from nasal pillows to a nasal mask (he gave me a one week trial with one last week), the quality of my sleep has been improving. He showed me how to change my humidity level from auto to "4" and that little change has made such a huge difference - no more dry nasal passages! Also, since using the nasal mask, my "leaks" have increased - somewhat dramatically. I've started using mask liners, so they probably contribute somewhat to the increased leaks. This morning I checked (via ResMed data) and saw that my leaks were at 42 (around 16-28 with the mask, about 5-19 with the pillows)!!! Yet, the apneas were only 1.1 and I had a very good sleep - probably 7 hours (with a couple "awakes" to rearrange myself on the bed and one trip to the bathroom!). So, thanks to folks here who have told me not to worry about the leaks if I feel better!!! I check in on this site daily to check for helpful hints - what a great site! Feeling more hopeful as each week passes. Best.

Where are you for the summer? I guess it's not in a third world backwater, since you seem to have access to what you need.

Note that if you're in the compliance period, your downloads probably won't be working. However, when you get home they will get caught up.
