yea i dont think my mouth falls open when i fall asleep
how long did it take you to stop the chipmunk cheeks?
did you wake up during the night and try to push through and get used to it each night or something?
how did the process of getting used to it work?

I keep my tongue pressed up against the roof of my mouth to block air from coming out of my mouth. I try to do this during the day, so it feels natural at night. That seems to stop air from puffing up my cheeks. Hopefully, I'll be able to do this all night and not have to use a chin strap.

Re: nasal mask success stories?
even when i try to hold my tongue on the roof of my mouth, air seems to get through. even if its a little bit. im wondering if its an anatomy thing, where some people can naturally use nasal masks and some people may need a chin strap or another device due to their structuredreamingofdreaming wrote: ↑Mon Jul 02, 2018 2:34 pmI have to use a chin strap. It's the only thing that worked for me. Well, except for the time that I was waiting for my chin strap and I wrapped an ace bandage around my head and chin (it looked ridiculous, but worked). My mouth falls open when I fall asleep. I had to learn to hold my tongue against the roof of my mouth to stop the chipmunk cheeks.

as palerider says, it's down to us being different from one another. this is a lesson i found hard to learn in using cpap. but it's true.zackds wrote: ↑Tue Jul 03, 2018 2:42 pmso why do you think some people can wear a nasal mask and others seem to struggle?
