I just went back and looked through your posting history, since you joined the forum less than two months ago...

You've contributed exactly nothing since joining, just mouthing off .... and acting like you're 'protecting' DH.

DH is usually wrong, as has been explained to you before. DH talks about things he doesn't understand, and posts things that confuse those that don't know better.

You, on the other hand, seem to be the kind of idiot that moves in next to the airport, and then starts complaining about the noise.

If you don't like it here, then please, by all means, move, and take your pet DH with you.

Since you already are using a Philips DreamStation auto CPAP, I recommend staying with that brand. An AutoBiPap is more flexible than a straight BiPap and they both come under the same payment code. That is, the price to you and the insurance reimbursement will be the same. The DME supplier said I can get a heated tube as well, but that needs to be specifically added to the prescription. Should I get that too?

I would suggest that only the CPAP be stated as "as written" and not the mask.
Language for the mask should look like "CPAP mask of patient's choosing." That will allow you to change masks if some time in the future you want or need to change to a different mask.

Ramp is something you can turn on or off yourself so it would be unnecessary to include that in the scrip although it won't hurt to have it there.

Finally, the reason for staying with the same manufacturer lies in the internal algorithms that control your treatment. Both Philips and ResMed have excellent ones. However they are different and some (very few) people can tell the difference in use and are disturbed by the difference. I always recommend staying with the current manufacturer unless there is a compelling reason to change. That avoids the possibility of being one of those who can tell and can't stand the difference. The risk is very small but real and once you get the new machine, it's a real problem to switch if your insurance, like mine, doesn't do the rent-to-own thing and just pays all of it up front.
