How Tech Prevents Fraudulent Sleep Data Transmission

Post by D.H. » Fri Jun 29, 2018 10:03 am

It seems that there is a concern about fraudulent sleep data. The largest concern is safety fraud. That is, somebody who has be have healthy sleep as condition or employment (such as a pilot, train operator, or nuclear plant operator), would have somebody else take his/her sleep test, or use his/her CPAP to fake compliance.

Also, there is the possibility of insurance fraud. That is billing Susan's insurance for sleep services while it's really Jane (who is a long term CPAP user) who is using "Susan's CPAP" (while Susan knows nothing about this), in order to defraud the insurance company.

In addition to whatever statutes might be violated that are specific to insurance, medicine, or public safety, this is clearly "Fraudulent Impersonation" which is a serious felony everywhere.

Yeah, for sure.
For sure!
The subject of this thread is even wrong proving the OP did not even understand the atricle.

It is not about fraudulent sleep data transmission, but fraudulent home sleep tests where somebody else takes the test for you.

This is the title in the article, not my title! It's about test taking fraud and also about compliance fraud.

I expanded a bit on insurance fraud since the topic of fraud is involved.

Unlike DH's mind, a wastebasket probably has something in it that was useful at some point in the past.

I would like to take this opportunity to admit to this board that I am not actually me.

Where it comes from has nothing to do with your lack of comprehension

I don't think any of that data-tracking technology would be able to penetrate my aluminum-foil-full-body-sleeve that I sleep inside in my basement in order to keep out the radiated alien chatter.
