Is it normal to hurt head to toe after ASV titration?

Post by Sleepymomtoo » Tue Jun 26, 2018 8:06 pm

I am hoping someone can tell me if hurting after ASV titration is normal. I had ASV titration last night, which was not the most comfortable thing to do, and they had to take my pressures way up. When I woke this morning I felt terrible, not like I did after CPAP titration where I had lots of energy. I expected pain in my chest from the ASV but I actually hurt head to toe and have a horrible headache and it's been 13 hours since the sleep study ended. Is this normal after an ASV titration sleep study? If so, how long will it last? I sure hope that once I start to use the machine regularly that I don't feel like this.

Probably just had a miserable night in a crappy place, with a bunch of stuff attached to you, which made for crappy sleep.

I've never heard anybody else comment on such feelings.

I did not hurt from head to toe or even any one place after any of my seven trips to the sleep lab, including my final ASV titration. Good luck with therapy.

I hope that you feel better. You might be coming down with the flu.

A titration can be stressful. Stress can heighten pain perception. And even a highly successful titration can involve an adjustment in hormones and an adjustment in reaction to medications, if you are taking any--even something as common as caffeine. Personally, I would tend to mention to a doc anything that appears to be an immediate reaction to anything medical so that it could be noted in my file. Might be nothing, but might be a clue to something later on. Either way, probably not something to hide from one's medical team.

After I had my ASV titration, I had a pretty good headache and my chest muscles and ribs ached like I had been punched repeatedly. It abated with some rest and ibuprofen.
