Re: pressure change
Which mode? Fixed or Auto?
Are you saying 6 minimum EPAP...what is the 10? Max IPAP?

Re: pressure change
ANY HELP ON THIS..WOULD BE APPRECIATED
Re: pressure change
Pressure support is nothing more than the difference between inhale and exhale. It's what makes for the extra comfort and ease you get on exhale.
Regular auto paps don't have that PS setting available...they just have a minimum and a maximum and we can get an implied PS if we use exhale relief but that's not always used and it's limited when used.
6 is I assume minimum EPAP...I don't know what the 10 is supposed to be or where it came from. Does the doctor want the 10 to be as high as it will ever go as in IPAP? Does he mean that's what he wants the IPAP to be when using 6 EPAP? If so then PS is 4.
You must be in auto bilevel mode if you see a minimum and maximum pressure support.
You add PS to EPAP to get IPAP. Without knowing if the doctor wants to limit IPAP or what the 10 means..it's hard to offer anything.
Does he want the machine to be able to totally auto adjust as needed or does he want to limit the range the machine might move around in?
So without knowing what the doctor meant with those numbers...impossible to offer anything more.
You are asking for specific help and not able to give enough specific information to get that help. We have no way to know what the doctor was thinking with 6/10. Sorry but that's just the way it is. We don't know what he wants to do so impossible to offer settings to do a job that we don't know what the doctor wants the job to be.
PS minimum and maximum can equal the same thing or be different. Whatever is done I don't advise PS max being over 5 without a doctors direct supervision.
