why do i still stop breathing with cpap and oxygen on 2 llters?

Has anyone ever had this happen? its like my brain stops telling my lungs to breath. so I am only sleeping 2 hours at a time. I HAVE CML CANCER AND TAKE A VERY LARGE DOSE OF SPRYCEL CANCER MEDACATION. Water retention is horrible which causes a heart problem. not taking the medication is a sure early death. can anyone help????

I did something you should have already done: I looked up the list of known possible side-effects of Sprycel.

Breathing issues are amongst those listed, amongst other things. I won't try to interpret all of which I read beyond the statement that you should consult your doctor. Maybe you're having central apneas, maybe something else is going on from the chemo, but your doctors can run tests and more properly diagnose things in-person.

You should fill out your profile by listing all your equipment. Then obtain SleepyHead and post your charts. There are smart people here who may be able to see what is going on, based on the data. If you are having central apneas, that would be one possible problem.

I am sorry about your illness. Please check with your physicians. This forum offers excellent advice for routine apnea. Complicated cases with issues of comorbidity should be managed by professionals.
