Best night yet
Last night was my best night since beginning treatment a month or so ago. I decided to use my new Philips Respironics DreamWear FFM for the full night and it looks like it worked wonderfully. It's also the most comfortable mask to date. If this continues I will retire my F&P Simplus FFM. Although I slept less hours than usual last night (Had my grandchildren sleepover, 8,7,6 & 6) I feel great.

Happy dance time. You got there this time. Took just a little bit of work and time but you got there.
Good job.
Now..word of warning...if you have a "bad" night every now and then don't panic. We all have them. Even me.
We can't be perfect all the time. The other night I had a night where it was leak city on the report (I slept through them) and the night before I never got above 10 L/min leak. Sometimes I might see a little cluster of events get flagged. Rare but it does happen every now and then. I shrug my shoulders, blame the aliens and move on.

The ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet test we did made all the difference. Mask recommendations also helped a great deal. I am a pessimist by nature but now find myself optimistic about my treatment.

Re: Best night yet
Sometimes people just do better with one machine over another for any number of reasons.
I do wish that people had the opportunity to at least try another brand before they had to be stuck with something so that they could at least see if there is a difference for them. Unfortunately here in the US the machine suppliers don't often make that available to patients though I have heard of a rare few. The VA certainly never will. They dispense whatever they get the best deal on. That's the government for you. But they will go pay $300 for a toilet seat.
Anyway glad I could help out and had the spare machine to try so you could at least compare and not have the cash outlay be a waste.
Not everyone ends up preferring the ResMed (though most seem to) as I know a few that have got to try both and actually prefer the Respironics. I would have felt really bad if you had bought one and hated it. While I was 99.9% sure that you would do better with it...there was always those few people in the back of my mind that I know actually prefer Respironics. I couldn't guarantee it.
I am so happy that we finally got you on the right track and the chances of your cpap machine ending up in the closet again are slim and none. Now you are finally on the road to better sleep and better health in general.

Re: Best night yet
My wife and I both have been using the Dreamwear FFM for about a month. We both have occasional nights when the leak rate is very high. I have found this happens more often than with the F20 we were using, but the leaks normally don't interfere with our sleep.

Like Pugsy says, things will vary, you'll have some days better than others, and (obviously) some worse. You have to look at the averages how how it is.
Enjoy your rest

I have that happen even now sometimes without even changing my mask or anything different. My rule is as long as I don't make a habit of it (see it night after night after night) and I sleep through it...I don't really care as long as I feel good.Okie bipap wrote: ↑Sun Jun 17, 2018 1:19 pmMy wife and I both have been using the Dreamwear FFM for about a month. I downloaded my data last week...the night before I downloaded...bad leaks (slept through all of them) but the night before that not even over 10 L/min for the entire night. Go figure. Both nights...slept well and felt good. So I shrug my shoulders, laugh at the aliens trying to screw with me and move on.
