DreamStation Auto vs AirSense 10 AutoSet

I have switched from a Respironics 760 BiPAP to the Resmed S9. Both are the previous version of the machines you are talking about and from what I can gather the newer versions differ mainly in cosmetics. The basic internals such as blower, the algorithms, etc used are the same.

I'm saying this because, like you, I noticed the the pitch of the Respironics BiPAP waxed and waned with exhalation. The Resmed doesn't do this. I also have a Respironics 560 APAP and it also alters in pitch in accordance with my breathing. I now solely use the Resmed S9 and have the Aircurve10 VAuto on the way so that both my main and back up machine are the same.

My PR is a little noisy, and more so recently than in the past, but it helps drown out the sound of my wife's frequent late-night phone calls to family on the West Coast. So I'm good.

My 10 Auto Set made the same noise being discussed, my fix, set it on a towel placed on the floor beside the bed. Problem solved, I check my filters more than before but the sleep is worth it....
