Experience with a new Hybrid
adaptive Hybrid
My DME didn't know anything last week about this adaptive flow Hybrid. But he has had experience with the new headgear and he thought it was really nice. He called Teleflex and found out about the adaptive flow design. Now, he is getting me an adaptive flow Hybrid.
I have had the older Hybrid version for a few months now. Other than the headgear slipping occassionally, it has been working well. I wonder what improvement I should expect from this adaptive flow version (other than of course the headgear).

In my email conversations with the Teleflex Product Manager, she stated:
If you haven't experienced any problems with your machine "turning off" while using the current style of the Hybrid, then I wouldn't worry about upgrading at the moment.
It appears the new design was a response to the mask causing problems with Resmed machines. I am only guessing, but I think it must have a lower passive flow, especially at higher pressures. She also stated that the adaptive flow model will entirely replace the original model, once the manufacturing and supply chain catchup.
But I can pretty much guarantee you that you will love the new headgear compared to the old!

I seem to remember that the Hybrid "codes" are broken down into two or three. Can someone who purchased from cpap.com look at their invoice and tell me what the codes and costs are?
I want to make sure the costs are not over my insurance limits by too much. Thanks in advance.

Thank You.
Wow, they put the whole cost into Miscellaneous - not even mask. I find that unusual.
Anybody else have a different code?

Okay, I found my notes when the Hybrid came on the market. Someone wrote that it would be broken down into 3 codes; E7030 (full face mask), E7032 (mask cushion), and A7033 (nasal pillows).
Anybody see anything like that on their invoices?

Hi Linda,
There's no breakdown in costs on the invoice, just says unit price: 174.99.
I paid out of pocket on this one as my insurance only covers 1 mask a year. Our insurance system is totally different in Canada.
