Cleaning old machine

Post by vashcouk » Mon May 28, 2018 4:17 am

So the story is I put away my machine dirty and left it in its carry case for 6 months.

I’m hoping there are some good deep clean tips.

I already have new hose and mask, but I’m thinking about bacteria in the humidifier reservoir and possibly spread into the machine.

Any good recommendations would be appreciated.

Thank you

No reason for anything to spread to the machine and a good wipe for the machine is probably all you need.

Clean the tank with a little vinegar in water and use Q-tips for any gunk in corners etc. Rinse well, let dry. Relax.

If you really want to, I know the Clinical Manual has directions for cleaning & disinfecting the machine.

I got the manual from a link posted by Pugsy.

If you only used distilled water, made sure that it was absolutely dry when you packed it, and zipped the bag completely closed, it should not be dirty.

Of course, it's still prudent to clean the parts that you can before using.

There's nothing in the machine for bacteria to feed on, they'd all have starved to death months ago.

A splash of (cheap) vodka in the empty, cleaned tank
will kill mold and spores--(The most likely crud you might find.)
No need to rinse after--and save that good stuff to brighten up your OJ.
