I have a general question about how I should feel when my reports are clean and CPAP properly used (of course, I know the answer is complicated!).

I had a lot of leaks last night (and forgot to replace the SD card, unfortunately) and was feeling tired, so I readjusted my mask and set the pressure to 11 cm and got a very clean 90 minutes of CPAP (see below). Does waking up from this nap mimic how I should feel waking up when my CPAP and reports are optimized?

Please forgive the general nature of this question, but I've been optimizing my reports and getting a good amount of decent sleep and still feel tired in the middle of the day, and I'm wondering if that will go away. If I get 8 or 9 hours with a 1 AHI, should I presumably feel like someone without OSA feels? I guess I've just been a little frustrated with the tweaking and want to feel rested!

Feeling the good numbers or not feeling the good numbers is a common complaint.
We expect to feel noticeably better but sometimes it doesn't work out that way for any number of reasons.

Good numbers unfortunately doesn't tell the whole story about what is going on with our sleep. All it means is that the apneas are being prevented but doesn't mean that there isn't something else going on messing with our sleep quality (leaks, wake ups, non restorative sleep) or simply something else going on physically or mentally.

Getting good numbers is the relatively easy part but feeling them isn't so easy. Wish it were.

What we do is optimize our therapy as best we can and cross our fingers that fixes our problem with how we feel because without optimal therapy there's not much chance of feeling better. Gotta start somewhere.

If you are having frequent wake ups during the night for whatever reason...you aren't going to feel your best the next day no matter how good your "numbers" are or how many hours of sleep you get.

CPAP therapy fixes bad sleep if the bad sleep is from sleep apnea. It can't fix bad sleep from other culprits and there's a big long list of potential culprits for bad sleep besides sleep apnea. We start with cleaning up the reports so that the therapy is optimized and if that doesn't bring us joy then we start looking at other potential factors for not feeling so great during the day.

I have no idea how a person might feel after a clean nap vs a clean over night sleep or how it might correlate.
90 minute nap...maybe one sleep cycle ending with REM.
I have had some naps where I wake up feeling great and some I wish I had never had the nap.

Thanks, Pugsy. That helps a lot. The investigation continues!

Below are my last two nights on 11 cm - my AHI has creeping higher.

Hi everyone - I am now on my 3rd or 4th day on 11 cm and my numbers seem to hover around 4 AHI, with the below results being pretty typical of the last few nights. I feel okay but definitely a little tired throughout the day. Does this seem like the best I'll be able to do or are there more tweaks that should be made?

Thanks again everyone for all of your help! It's been super helpful so far.

Do you know what position you were sleeping between 1:30 and 3:30?

Try 12 minimum. See if the numbers improve or not. Not sure if they will or not. When I was at this stage years ago I went from 10 cm minimum to 13 without any noticeable change in the AHI but it was in the 2ish to 3ish range and not quite as "busy" as yours is.

I don't remember the position, unfortunately. I usually start on my back and quickly move to my side, so I'd guess I was on my side by then.

Here is last night's report with 12 cm as the minimum.
