ResMed H5i Humidifier Fault Error

Post by jimj502 » Tue May 15, 2018 6:09 pm

I have a ResMed S9 CPAP machine with a ResMed H5i humidifier. Recently the unit has stopped working with the error message, “Error: Humidifier Fault, Replace Humidifier”.

If I disconnect the Humidifier and use the standard hose, the CPAP machine works properly. But without the humidifier I will eventually experience unnecessary dryness.

What is causing the H5i Humidifier Fault? I have tried new tubs and have examined the H5i for any damage but find nothing unusual. I have also tried using a new heated hose. This also did not help.

Can the H5i Humidifier be fixed?

You can buy a new humidifier for less money than trying to get one repaired.

all the way down at the bottom of the page....$90

I agree, the humidifiers are cheap. Go with secondwind.....

I have the same problem, it might be because I cleaned it using water,...
Resmed should have warned about this but they just want to make us spend more money.
Seriously? Warned you about what? not dunking the machine in the sink?

You mean like this, out of the manual:
Beware of electrocution. Do not immerse the S9 device, H5i docking station, power supply or power
cord in water. Always unplug these devices before cleaning and make sure they are dry before
plugging them back in.

or where it says: 1. Wipe the exterior of the S9 and H5i with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
