Full face mask recommended for nasal congestion, but not a mouth breather?

Post by DavidY » Sun May 13, 2018 12:50 pm

I typically rotate several nasal masks for up to several days at a time...using Eson2, Wisp cushion, Pico and Dreamwear under the nose masks. Last night, I didn't get much sleep...may be a hour or two. Shut down cpap for several hours. This was due to heavy nasal congestion. Took an allergy pill in the evening. Would a FFM work for me...not a mouth breather.

I have the Dreamwear FFM or the N20 for when I'm too stuffed up to wear the P10 .. I think it'll help you out, worth giving a try ..

A full face mask means you can mouth breathe, or not mouth breathe, and no therapy is lost. It just eliminates one variable - reduced therapy because of mouth breathing. But it also potentially introduces others - some find it harder to get a good seal, require a bit more pressure for the same therapeutic results, and somewhat less comfortable because it's more on your face, and the headgear can bother your neck.

If you're congested, is it possible you have the humidifier on a high setting - or even any setting vs none - and don't need it due to high humidity where you live? Feel free to lower the setting or even not use the thing at all... many don't.
