By default, the Resmed machines are not supplied with a dishwasher safe tank although there is one available.

Re: Mold in the Water in Machine
When I ordered my Airsense, I asked about the washable tank,
and the DME cheerfully substituted for me, no extra charge.
I think they want my business!

I second Chunky Frog's suggestion of getting a cleanable water tank.

But the washer-safe version is constructed of better materials,
and its projected lifespan is longer.
I wash mine by hand, but it is good to know it can survive the machine.

The lifespan on mine will outlast many as it just sits there in the carrying case ..

Re: Mold in the Water in Machine
The pink slime doesn't appear to hurt anybody, but it is icky. I get it every summer shortly after I start opening the windows. Washing in Dawn or in the hospital disinfectant (sold by our sponsor) clears it. However, it will continue to come back until the end of its season as it appears to be airborne. I just fill every night and then pour out and wash at the end of the week. I have too much other stuff to lug than to be getting extra gallons of distilled every month with dump and dry.

With distilled water I refill and only dump occasionally.
