How to minimise SleepyHead?
How to minimise SleepyHead?
I am not able to minimise Sleepy Head or close the program from the top right hand corner. I have to close the program using Task Manager. All suggestions welcome.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: How to minimise SleepyHead?
Did you just install SleepyHead and this is what you get or did SleepyHead change?
Which version are you using?
Where did you get it?
Looks like maybe a bad or corrupted install. I would uninstall..and not use the same downloaded setup files (just in case they are corrupted) and I would go get a fresh download and then try installing again.

Re: How to minimise SleepyHead?
I installed SleepyHead a few days ago.
This is what I originally downloaded. I have just downloaded it again and reinstalled with the same problem.
h ttp://sleepfiles.com/SH/files/snapshots/SleepyHead-1.0.0-beta-2-Snapshot-Win32-OpenGL-20160422.exe
I'll try looking for another source.
Thanks for your suggestions,
Chris

Something weird happening with your operating system.
What kind of computer and what operating system?
I gave you the link where I got my version.

I used exactly the same link as you! I'm using Win 8.1 on an HP laptop.
I can get used to using Task Manager to close the program!
Thanks again,
Chris

Re: How to minimise SleepyHead?
I am using Windows 10 now but I did have Windows 8.1 on this laptop when I first got it and I used this version of Sleepyhead without your issues.
HP Envoy laptop.
I have no idea where the right hand corner stuff has gone to. Sorry.
Highly annoying I am sure but maybe someone with more technical computer skills than myself has an idea.
I am pretty good at sorting out issues if I personally experience them but not so good if I don't have past experience to draw upon and this is the first I have ever even heard of the right hand corner stuff going AWOL.
When you did the uninstall did you go into the My Documents area and remove the first SleepyHead folder that SleepyHead installs?
This folder is untouched by the uninstall process as it is a safeguard so data isn't lost if SH breaks and an uninstall just has to be done.
This folder if not removed is a remnant of the first install and it might contain the bug that is causing the problem but a new install of SH will still want to use that folder because it is already there.

Re: How to minimise SleepyHead?
Sounds like it's stuck in full screen mode try pressing F11 to get the menu and buttons back

Hadn't even thought of that..but it might be just that.Jas_williams wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 12:48 pmSounds like it's stuck in full screen mode try pressing F11 to get the menu and buttons back
And FWIW...F11 didn't help me when I got to full screen mode and it got stuck. I had to change the desktop resolution to get it done.
But back when it happened to me...I couldn't even see the menu at the top left much less have it greyed out.
File/View/Data/Help...were gone and not even showing up. They were out of viewing range when in full screen mode.

Re: How to minimise SleepyHead?
F11 does nothing for me. The desktop screen resolution is on its max size. So I'll keep trying to find what is likely a simple solution.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: How to minimise SleepyHead?
I had to reduce the desktop resolution to get to where I would toggle full screen mode off.
Then I changed it back to the higher resolution. I think I had to about cut the resolution in half to get to the menu where I could get out of full screen mode.
I am not sure that is your problem though because you can see the menu even though it appears to be greyed out (unaccessible) and I don't think I could even see the menu when I went to full screen mode.
And it was such a PITA I really don't want to go there again just to check it out...sorry. It's been a couple of years since I did that but I remember what a PITA it was to fix it but maybe my memory is wrong about the menu being off screen.
Did you ever have SleepyHead working normally or has it always been this way since day one, minute one with the normal X in the upper right corner?

Re: How to minimise SleepyHead?
Your first two sentences solved the problem for me. Everything now looking as it should and working as I expect it should. I suspect I must have hit some wrong keys.
Thanks for taking the time out from being a SleepyHead mentor, guide. I am very grateful.
Regards,
Chris

Re: How to minimise SleepyHead?
Reducing the desktop resolution enabled you to fix the issue???
Wonderful.
FWIW...there it a hot key command thing that makes SH go to full screen toggle. I forget what it is but the cat did it one time for me.
Damn cat. Meaning a combination of keys hit at the same time even by accident.
I had SH open...cat flew across laptop keyboard and bam...I was in full screen mode and luckily I knew quickly (past experience) just to go change the desktop resolution to fix it.
