MAD device alternative?

MoodyMolly, if an MAD would provide the assurance you needed while camping, why not make your own? I expect that whatever you came up with would be just as effective as an MAD in preventing death by non-xPAP. And hey, you could use the savings toward some great camping gear.

It might give her "assurance" but it wouldn't actually be effective in helping her, so what's the point?

When someone can't accept the wisdom offered by the majority, is it kinder to ignore the repeated question or to suggest something ineffective but far less expensive? I'm a newb here (perhaps you spell it noob) and will defer to the wisdom of the sages.
