Not so bad DME
My DME called yesterday to check up on me and while we were talking, I mentioned I was thinking about a Mirage Activa mask. She offered that she had them and invited me to come down for a fitting. When I got there after work tonight I discovered that she was waiting for me after hours. I also found out that my insurance co. hasn't paid them a dime yet after several months. She wasn't at all concerned and took plenty of time fitting me and instructing me on the mask. I, on the other hand was disturbed to think she was still waiting for payment. Normal for her, not the way I would want to do business. She's not perfect, I'm sure she won't support C-flex until the supply of plain Remstars run out but she obviously cares about more than money. Proof that not ALL dme's are evil.

DME's aren't BORN evil, they are MADE evil, by a complex ritual involving chanting and cat urine.

Doug,
I hate to have to take the role of the cynical one, but I will for this one. First I'll say it was very nice that your RT to stayed after hours to meet with you. It is also encouraging that she was able to provide you with the Activa. Beyond that, it is quite normal for insurance companies to take months to pay. I'm sure their 500% mark-up is more than enough to cover the wait. Why are they still handing out obsolete non-c-flex machines? Doesn't seem right to me that you should have to use inferior equipment because they ordered too many of the old models. Do they have a sister business next door still selling B&W televisions?
Hope things improve rather than get worse. Sounds like this DME offers a glimmer of hope.
