I did have depression, I wouldn't say I do anymore... I would say yes.
Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"

The APA dudes wrote:Depression symptoms [can include] trouble sleeping or sleeping too much. . . . Medical conditions . . . can mimic symptoms of depression so it is important to rule out general medical causes. . . . Before a diagnosis or treatment, a health professional should conduct a thorough diagnostic evaluation, including an interview and possibly a physical examination. . . . Getting enough quality sleep on a regular basis [can] help reduce symptoms of depression. -- https://www.psychiatry.org/patients-fam ... depression
Color added by me.

I think that word "quality" would require sufficient treatment for OSA sufferers--in other words, CPAP.

I just wanted to point out that Bipolar illness is very different than depressive illness. While both have the commonality of a depressive phase, depressive illnesses. In fact, the most common of the treatments for depression can precipitate manic phases in Bipolar, thus the careful follow-up when starting treatment for depression. For Bipolar mood stabilization is the initial treatment, then treatment for depressive symptom after mood stabilization. I believe that ( and experience) that xPAP improves my depression and anxiety symptoms, but that does not lead me to say that it should improve bipolar symptoms. They are different diseases.

My personal belief is that for every human, improving sleep always helps everything else and never hurts anything else. Breathe good air. Drink good water. Eat good food. And get good sleep (which for OSA people like us generally means CPAP). To the extent possible. Always. And I think that is always true no matter what else you deal with in your health.

I also believe that this article has some good suggestions along those lines that have been customized for bipolar sufferers: https://www.everydayhealth.com/hs/bipol ... and-sleep/

For me yes .I remember stopping at my bedroom door looking at my bed and wanting to cry. I knew I couldn't sleep. and would be worse than ever in the morning.Had my sleep test, horrible! Then I got my machine we fought a bit for the first few nights. Bought a new mask found this site and reset my machine. We are now happily married, my husband is not complaining. and for four years I have been sleeping and eager to go to bed. Life is good with CPAP.
