'Secaris' lubricating nasal gel

Post by Elle » Sun Jan 21, 2007 6:30 pm

I'm not sure if this product has been mentioned but I had problem with nasal sores until I tried this gel. Just put a bit on your nostrils and it protects your skin. I was also told to rub vasaline on the pillows to avoid sores.

nasal irritation

I also have the nasal sores. I was told I could use any non greasy lotion or KY gel. I was cautioned about using vaseline cause it could keep from making a seal and it would harden the nostril pillows. I am new to this hose head life and dont have the answers.

Ahhh!!! The power of sleep!

Secaris is a water based lubricant. I use it every day, spreading a bit around the pillows of the mask and on my nares. It helps seal and avoids irritation.

It is a canadian product. There are actually 2 identical products Secaris and Rhinaris. They are even manufactured by the same laboratory.

I don't know whether it's available in the USA or in made in the USA under what name.

Regards,

David

I've used Ayr's Aloe Saline Nasal Gel. It works great, and I heard about it here on this board. thanks to all who share info.

I used the secaris last night and woke up with a sore nose anyway. Does anyone re-apply during the night? I didn't wake up during the night or notice it until I had finished a great sleep but now have to spend the day 'curing' this thing. argghhh.

BTW, I have a method for curing the sores pretty quickly. I usually alternate using fucidin (strong topical antibiotic) and cortisone cream. Usually gone in a day.
