Comfort Curve Pad A Cheek

Post by greyhound » Thu Jan 04, 2007 7:29 am

I’ve been testing a new pad a cheek that is intended to cover the Comfort Curve’s silicone cheek pads. It fits nicely over the cheek pads and makes the Comfort Curve even more comfortable. A surprising benefit – and one worth the purchase price, even if it were the only benefit – is the fact that it covers the headgear’s quick release buttons and reduces the possibility of accidental disconnects.

Since receiving the PAC, I’ve also used it without the CC’s silicone cheek pads. I believe I’m getting fewer leaks this way, and the PAC makes this a very comfortable alternative. I have suggested to Karen that she provide a little more Velcro so the PAC, used without the cheek pads, would fit a bit better.

In the interest of transparency, I want to mention that Karen gave me this sample, without charge, in return for my feedback.

Do you have any photos to share?

I had originally made covers with elastic to cover the pads -- works great. My problem is that it was such a pain to sew the elastic that I don't want to make any other ones. Then I made a wrap around cover for each of the pads with velcro to secure it. Seems to work nicely AND it was easy.

(I also made a hose cover for the "Y" portion of the hose.)

This is a blurry photo (darn camera) that kind of shows how the cover works. It's basic, but I used the pattern that I first cut out -- I'm sure I could do better.

Don't know how to post a photo. But it's very similar to what you made and "hooks together" with velcro.
