The Breeze has a lower CO2 exhaust rate than is available from the mask selection of the S8 machines. Therefore, the S8 machine often shows zero leak rate because the machine considers anything less than zero as equal to zero.
I drilled small holes into my Breeze shell to calibrate it to the Swift mask setting of the S8 and found that in order to match the Swift exhaust rate (ie. leakrate hovers at or just above zero), additional exhaust port(s) equivalent to the area of a single 1/16 inch diameter hole is needed (calibrated at 11 cm H2O and using CPAP mode).
However, I sealed the holes back up because it caused the Breeze to be much louder. It is nearly silent again using the original exhaust port.
I suppose now that I also have a Remstar Auto, I could recalibrate the Breeze again since the Remstar shows total leak rates without adjusting for specific mask type like S8 machine does ... maybe later this year?
Anyway, yes, the Breeze will generally show zero leak rate unless one has continuous large leaks.
