Christmas past and present

Post by kteague » Mon Dec 25, 2006 10:37 am

Carley, thanks for that link. It prompted me to send the following greeting to family and friends...

"Hi. Hope everyone is having a good holiday. Below is the location of a lovely ecard. My first thought this morning when I saw it was "I don't have time for this" but turned out I'm glad I took the time. All of us have different memories of Christmases past, and many of our kids and/or grandkids probably can't begin to relate to skating on a pond till the sky was starlit or enjoying the beauty of the falling snow in the moonlight in the woods. Going thru the "day" in the ecard just kinda sent me down memory lane for a few minutes. Now it's back to today and heading out the door in the rain and above normal temperatures to "Grandma's house" which is now a room on a long hall. Time goes on and things change, but today's holidays are tomorrow's memories. They are as good as we make them.
Do you best to make them real good, so that one day the remembrances will be welcome and warm. Merry Christmas.
Kathy/Mom/Grandma"

Thanks, Carley.
Kathy

That is a beautiful card.Made me feel very warm and fuzzy. How wonderful!
It has been a a very hard year this year.My boyfriend's (of 15 years)sister commited suicide in October and this will be our first Christmas without her.Her death is also being investigated as foul play might have been involved. It has been a very, very hard time for me and my boyfriend and his family. Please keep the Averys in your prayers.Thank you again for the little card.It made me joyful inside.
