Trying to stay compliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, so far I've tried the nasal mask and the pillows. Each have an advantage but I'm still having problems keeping them on after 3 hours. I'm really starting to get frustrated!!!!!!!! I've tried loosening the mask till it just starts to leak to releave pressure on my face. I tried to adjust the pillows the same way. I still keep waking up and adjusting and adjusting till I think I'm going to go goofy. Then I just say heck with it and rip it off. I really want this to work. I dream of becoming a true hoser , but it's been 2 months now. I find myself making excuses not to wear it. Am I just some kinda wimp or is this common??

Britt,
Which mask and which nasal pilllows have you tried? Some are much better than others.
You're a trooper for trying so hard. Let us know what equipment your working with and we'll se if we can get things working for you.

Britt, I looked back at your previous posts and you spoke of having a ComfortLite and an Activa. Are those the ones you still have?
What size is your Activa? Shallow, Standard, or Large
The ComfortLite...well...I personally think there are some much, much better nasal pillows interfaces out there, if you do want to stick with nasal pillows. I'm a turn-from-side-to-side Breeze lover. The Swift is another good one.
What you're going through is what so many of us deal with also - finding that elusive mask that really suits us. Sometimes all it takes is trying a different size cushion or different size nasal pillows. Sometimes it takes spending $$ after $$ trying other masks. You're not alone. Hang in there. We've all "been there" too, or are still looking, too.

I agree. Anyone who is having trouble with masks should start with almost anything made by ResMed.
There are others, of course. The Breeze for one, and I've seen some good references to the F&P masks.
But ResMed has the most consistently highly rated masks from what I've seen.

Did you mask come with any fitting info? The DME and the RT in my case both had the idea that if it leaks, keep cranking on the straps til it doesn't. For some masks that might be true, but for all masks if the placement is wrong, no amount of tightening will get the mask right. My Resmed Ultra Mirage came with a CD showing correct placement as well as the method to reduce leaks. It is QUITE possible you have the wrong size if after trying the correct placement and leak elimination, you still have leaks, or the mask might be one that doesn't work for you.
Are you working with a DME? On your Own? What masks are you trying?
