My capo is 3 years old and makes that wheezing inhale noise - 3 nights now. My supplier, Lincare, said it is out of warranty and I have to SIGN an agreement to pay repair costs if they send it way for repairs. How much should this be? A new machine is $850. Not covered by insurance until 5 years, so I’m stuck. Plus it takes 2 weeks to get it back....

I think that the new machine has a higher A-flex or C-flex setting than the old one did (perhaps the old one had it disabled altogether). Try disabling this feature completely.

When I got my new CPAP, I found the "flex" setting to be annoying because it amplified my breathing (and did so quite noisily). I've been using CPAP since 1999, and lived without the flex feature for many years.

To recap, the flex setting slightly reduces the pressure when the patient exhales. This feature was designed because some patients report difficulty exhaling "against the pressure."

A different noise at the time of inhaling and exhaling will make inhaling seem louder. The number of decibels is not lower (and may even be higher), but the noise changes rather than being constant, so it is more noticeable.

Mine is doing the same thing, its about a month or two old. Working fine, but the noise sometimes keeps me awake. I guess I should try to have it swapped or fixed. Has anyone had any luck solving this by changing out the blower? I have an older one, same model, that I might try changing out the blower. It is about 4 years old and got noisey, hence the attempt to replace it. I am disappointed with the new one, it's worse.

I have a T.V., a Fan, and a A/C unit, I am lucky they all make more noise than a XPAP unit. After a hour of XPAP, my ears plug, I can't even hear trains. Jim
