Cervical Collar: Do you want to try one for mouth breathing/snoring?
Cervical Collar: Do you want to try one for mouth breathing/snoring?
One Cervical Collar ordered from Amazon. Size: Average. Latex free/soft foam/medium support. $10. Not fancy. Had hopes, but it isn't going to work for me. I did not use it, tried it once around my neck. PM me if interested. I will mail. No cost to you.

Re: Cervical Collar: Do you want to try one for mouth breathing/snoring?
I got one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0027 ... =UTF8&th=1
It works well, HOWEVER, it's for a very small neck. I then tried the larger sized one, and it feels like it chokes me. So I decided to extend the velcro strap in back of the regular sized one, and now the regular sized one goes only about 90% of the way around my neck and the extended velcro can be attached properly. So it's a bit looser, it works very well that way, and doesn't feel like it chokes me. It's very comfortable also. Soft, but still has enough support to keep my chin up and my mouth shut.
Maybe one of these would work for you also?

In general, this is not a recommended treatment for SDB. However, depending on the exact nature of one's problem, I can't say it NEVER works!
BTW, in additonal to CPAP and a night guard (to protect my teeth from bruxism), I generally tuck a soft pillow under my neck.

They are very good at keeping your air way straight and stopping positional apneas. like moving your head forward and dropping your chin towards your chest. it can help in selecting a new pillow or continue with the collar.

When I had hip replacement surgery last month, I took my machine and cervical collar to the hospital with me. The nurses that saw me using it said they had never heard of using one for sleep apnea, but both thought it was a good idea since it keeps the chin up and helps to hold the airway open.
