Ramp not working?

Post by USMCVet » Sat Feb 17, 2018 2:15 am

I'm getting ready for bed and testing new pressures and can't figure out why ramp isn't working. I have it set to start at 4 for 20 minutes. Definitely starting at 10 and says so as much on screen. I checked on clinician level as well. Does it not work on constant CPAP,m

Push the ramp button a bit harder maybe?
If you for sure have it turned on (not locked) in the clinical setup menu to start at 4 cm for 20 minutes and you are for sure pushing the ramp button when you want ramp...it should work and if it doesn't then there's a problem somewhere.

Respironics machines differ from ResMed machines in the ramp.
There's the ramp button that Respironics users have to push to start ramp even if turned on in the setup menu.
If you don't push it...no 4 cm lower pressure despite having it turned on in the menu.

Go to My Setup, then Ramp. You will see a padlock in either the locked or open position. If it's in the locked position, it's disabled at the clinician level. Otherwise, you should be able to set the starting pressure and - I think - the amount of time until the full pressure is achieved. The ramp will gradually increase the pressure to the final pressure over the course of that time period. The Smart Ramp feature, if enabled, may accelerate the pressure faster if you fall asleep or if it senses respiratory distress.

While I don't like the ramp, if it works for you, then by all means, you should be using it.
