Oldie who feels like a newbie - ResMed Questions

Post by kteague » Sat Feb 10, 2018 2:04 pm

Having a brain cramp - an extended one. Looking at 3 different RedMed machines of family members - a bilevel, a VPap Auto, and an Autoset - all a few years old, my guess is S9. For the life of me I can't get into the EPR setting or to see the pressure settings. I could swear I used to know how to do this. Any just-push-this-dummy advice? At a facility and not able to muck around on my phone I can barely use looking for the answers.

Assuming S9...look at the image included in the manual (all S9 looks like this)
https://forum.apneuvereniging.nl/pdf/S9 ... manual.pdf

How to get into the clinical setup menu
https://www.apneaboard.com/resmed-s9-cpap-setup
ResMed S9 Series (S9 AutoSet, S9 Elite, S9 Escape Auto, S9 Escape, S9 VPAP S, S9 VPAP ST, S9 VPAP Auto & S9 VPAP Adapt): For Setup Instructions with pictures, click here. Plug in machine and turn the Push Dial until the device is showing the Home position (Home Icon illuminated). In Home position, press the Push Dial and the Setup Menu buttons down simultaneously for 3 seconds. The clinician menu will appear. Select parameter(s) you wish to modify with the Push Dial (push down to select, turn to modify). When done, select the Home choice again from the displayed menu, push down the Push Dial again and the adjustment is saved.

If not S9 or happens to be even older figure out which model and the short version of how to get to the setup menu here

Ok, the only one that has EPR is the autoset.

You may need to go into the clinical settings, if it's a s9, push the knob and lower silver button (the one with the little checkmarks) for a few seconds until the menu changes, you can find EPR under there... I normally set it for 'patient' so that you can get to it without having to go into the clinical menu).

the two bilevels don't have, or need, epr, since epr is just a limited bilevel.

Actually the bilevels might have EPR available but only if it has CPAP mode and you are in CPAP mode and not one of the high end specialty bilevels that might have cpap mode.

My S9 VPAP Auto had EPR but only in cpap mode...not in the bilevel modes.
My S9 Adapt...no EPR
My AirCurve 10 ST...special bilevel...no EPR even in CPAP mode.

Sorry to take so long to reply, but I appreciate the pointers and have been able to accomplish the simple task of pushing two buttons simutaneously. Seriously though, you all are the best!
