Software

Post by 45011ohio » Fri Jan 26, 2018 7:54 pm

I have another question for you folks. I do not have a desktop or a laptop computer currently. The harddrive in my laptop crapped out a year ago. I only use my 7 inch tablet now which is ANDROID version 4.4. Is there a version of sleepyhead ( or similar) that will run on my tablet? I have several microsd cards and adapters just not sure about the software.

No, sorry there is no Droid version of SleepyHead.
Windows, Mac, Linux, Ubuntu but no Droid.

You do have the MyAir thing and the data on the LCD screen...are you able to see the data on the machine display?

The MyAir data is really the same data as you can see on the LCD screen.
See the manual
https://sleep.tnet.com/home/files/resme ... -guide.pdf

You have to go into the clinical setup menu and change a setting in the menu.
Essentials....comes from the factory set to "usage"...and you need to change it to "Plus" and then you can see the data on the LCD screen.
MyAir shows the same data with a bit more fluff and some sophomoric platitudes.

What you can see on the LCD screen will get you real close and if it isn't real exciting or bad then not having the software available may not be that big of a deal.
Now if you are having problems and we really, really need to see the detailed data and you have no one that you can use their computer...if worst comes to worst you can copy the data on a new card and snail mail it to me (exchange personal information via private message) and I will run it through my software for you and get you some reports.

When my last "windoze" laptop croaked, I have only used the on-screen data.
In my case, it is enough. Your mileage, etc.

As was mentioned Sleepyhead will run on a Ubuntu computer. Ubuntu is odd you can install
and run it from a 16gb or larger flash drive even if you don't have a hard drive in your computer.
I have installed and run Ubuntu like this but never tries it with Sleepyhead but it should work
and as I said all you need is a 16gb flash drive . This reminds me I have a laptop I am not using
I may just try this myself. Oh you can download Ubuntu from the web or you can buy a install DVD
for some token price I think with shiping it's only about $10 .

My laptop was of an age where, they claimed it was not worth repairing (replacing the hard drive). I opened it up myself (laptop only not the HD) and it did not look that difficult to replace. ( I have built my own towers before, so I am not altogether naive as to the difficulty). The laptop is a HP, and I think the technician did not want to try and salvage my data.

I checked my MYAIR data a little bit ago
Results as follows:
7 hours 9 minutes usage time
8.8 events/hour
2 mask offs (toilet, I have BPH as well)
99 was my total score out of 100.
The almost 9 events per hour average is what I assume is the issue. Only time will tell.

Yep, most likely the bulk of that is central apnea and why you got the new diagnosis and have the new machine coming.
Your existing machine can't do what is needed when the centrals happen.
You can go deeper into the LCD screen on the machine sleep report and see the breakdown into each event category that makes up that overall AHI.
I don't know how to go to it with MyAir...but there is available the breakdown into each category.

There's a good video that explains Complex Sleep Apnea
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CU-XTcf ... e=youtu.be
