Question for ResMed Air Sense 10 users
Question for ResMed Air Sense 10 users
I have a ResMed Air Sense 10 that I have used for 8 months. It is so quiet that when I turn it on it does not make any sound at all (except for the air from the hose). I would like to know if they are all this quiet or is my machine exceptional? Medicare requires that I swap it out for a new one so I'm just wondering what to expect.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Question for ResMed Air Sense 10 users
I got it on a 10 month lease through my former insurance company who would have done a buyout after 10 months but I went on Medicare before the 10 months was up. Now I have to get a new machine and go on a new 13 month lease if I want Medicare to pay for it. This according to Apria and Medicare.
Re: Question for ResMed Air Sense 10 users
They all should be the same, only a manufacturing fault that would be covered under warranty would be different. work out your copays, sometimes it's better to buy one off of amazon for around 500

Re: Question for ResMed Air Sense 10 users
Do you have the option of buying out the balance of the lease? If you do, find out how much that would cost you out of pocket vs your copay through Apria. Medicare only cares that you get a new machine if they are the ones paying for it - Apria has no say in the matter. Also, Apria is not your only option for a DME. Depending on where you live, there may be many others. If you feel yourself being forced into a corner, make a new door. The first step would be to convince your doctor (any doc will work) to write the most restrictive script you can come up with to dictate that you get exactly what you want. If it comes to convincing your doc to write what you want you have access to a very large community of knowledgeable persons to call upon for help - but ask you must.

Re: Question for ResMed Air Sense 10 users
Nearly all of the noise of mine is from the type of vents on the mask, the machine itself is pretty quiet, although I can hear something if I try to listen to it.

Well, the airsense10 line is the newest from resmed, if you like it, I suggest you get another one, if you can't arrange it to keep that one.

Mine is very quiet. I have to put my hand in front of my mask vent sometimes to assure myself it's on. Love it!

Re: Question for ResMed Air Sense 10 users
I have used a Resmed AirSense 10 Autoset since June 2017. Like some of the others have stated it is very quiet. Most of the sound I get is from the air coming through the mask it self.

Re: Question for ResMed Air Sense 10 users
Very quiet here too, again, only noticable noise is the mask venting when the pressure ramps up
