I'll post it up when I get home from work. Hopefully I can get Sp02 on sleepyhead as well. Overall AHI was 0.9 though with 7.5 to almost 8 hours of sleep. It was still fragmented though.ChicagoGranny wrote:Well, you didn't mention how many hours you slept and what SH showed as far as events, leak line, pressure line?USMCVet wrote:I'm still really sleepy tired

Taking amplodipine besylate, was taking Lisinopril up until a few weeks ago and switched to hctz which I stopped taking a few days ago pending reply from doctors. My calcium is high or at least borderline high and hctz can increase that unnecessarilyPugsy wrote:Refresh my memory please. I don't have time to go reading through all your past posts

You may have washed the co2 out with the o2, so you may feel shorter of breath during the day, give everything time to stabalise. I think you may have lived in co2 retention and now that co2 level has reduced with the 8 hr of o2.USMCVet wrote:It's been a few hours now so I can somewhat gauge how it's working. I'm still really sleepy tired and almost seems like I have more shortness of breath. Mentally I'm feel slightly better which is good as well. Hopefully things just get better over next few days.

Less serious side effects may include:

This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur

Maybe I'll check my blood pressure today . Wonder how long it would take if I stopped taking meds to see improvement to rule out drugsPugsy wrote:https://www.rxlist.com/norvasc-drug/pat ... ideeffects

Talk to your doctor.USMCVet wrote:Wonder how long it would take if I stopped taking meds to see improvement to rule out drugs
If your sleep apnea is/was causing the hypertension then maybe you can get off the BP meds.
But not everyone is so lucky that sleep apnea treatment cures the BP issues...I speak from experience unfortunately. I was so hoping that effective cpap therapy would fix my BP issues but it didn't. I still need the meds.
It does work for some people and maybe you will be lucky enough to have it work for you that effective cpap for the sleep apnea will get rid of the BP issues as a nice byproduct.
I will share this with you....my sister was complaining of very similar symptoms (and we ruled out sleep apnea) of headache, fatigue, drowsiness and I forget which BP medication she was on but she got her doctor to change the BP meds to something else and all her unwanted symptoms went away.
Often we have more than one potential cause for unwanted symptoms and sometimes takes some detective work to figure out if meds are impacting how we feel and we don't realize it.

I have to wait until March sometime to really work on things when I get a new doctor. My BP has never been under ideal control and I always switch out meds from time to time and go back to old ones lol. So that bodes in my favor for meds part. But if it is because of sleep apnea or nocturnal Hypoxemia then this goes back 12 years or so to around time I had tonsils removed. My roommate used to throw pillows at me for snoring lol

Ok here it is, last night's data with sp02 data included. Let me know if I need to show different data.

I've been reading up on COPD and it would be uncommon for someone my age to be diagnosed with it but.... My cough is worst in morning, worse in cold weather, worse in shower. My lungs were clear in Chest X-ray but I definitely need to have pulmonologist to check things out .

As well as ace BP meds, some statins can induce a cough. It might be a bit of asthma. That will give you a cough and short of breath too. They count that in the COPD overlap stuff. Whatever it is, it will get sorted. It may not be drugs, given the change of symptoms from oxygen. I would think it wouldn't change the symptoms, so obviously.

Re: Any clues to why my oxygen is so low based on sleepyhead?
I do have Albuterol inhaler that does not change 02 Saturation. I can try it in morning tomorrow when I'm coughing though. I got it for wheezing a long time ago with upper respiratory infection and have a couple refills. I just got more because a month ago I thought I was getting bronchitis or something but it went away in day or two.
Oxygen made my cough more productive. Also for a while now when I yawn big I feel weird sensation at back of throat and upper pallet area. Almost likes it dry. Today was a more bearable day for sure in general however like I said shortness of breath was worse and definitely impacts quality of life.

Re: Any clues to why my oxygen is so low based on sleepyhead?
Ring up and ask doctor or if you are concerned seek medical or ER. I'm thinking the extra shortness of breath is an o2/co2 thing. washing th co2 out with the o2. The simple thing is to put the o2 on and see if the shortness of breath stops. This info would also help the doctor, to advise what is going on. I don't think a forum will give you a correct answer, just guesses.

I know a forum of non Dr 's can't diagnose or cure. I like any and all opinions though to be the best informed I can be

I think you are doing well, you are doing your own research and we are giving lots of opinions. I would say you have put yourself in a position, to have a better idea of what is going on than most. It's just that a doctor will be ably to examine you and determine if anything needs to be changed.

So it's time to hope I get a good pulmonologist.
